For a company that promotes a shiny happy image, they really can be horrible bullies. They lost the fucking phone in a bar, then complained to the police as though it was dastardly corporate espionage..?! Come on.
If you think Apple didn't exert any influence on the police... try going to the police with that crap as an individual and see how far you get.
I don't really get why Apple didn't just ride the wave of publicity. It's not like this is going to hurt their sales.
At least they haven't fired the poor kid who lost the phone. Yet.
