OK, so actually I think they pretended to fuck up supply. I mean, does anyone really believe this bullshit any more?

Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply ...

Demand higher than expected? For a product they've spent fuck knows how many millions promoting? This from a company that has had this problem for every other product they've released since the fucking ipod?

A cynical person might think they manufacture scarcity to keep the media machine going longer and jack up the prices some more.

Why would anyone be pleased to hear they can't buy something because people in another country are having too much fun with it? Seriously, people who line up to buy tech toys are not the kind of people who respond to missing out by being happy for the people who got one.

I swear, Apple's just taunting people to see how far they can push them. It really does stretch the limits of cult-dom to expect your faithful to be happy they can't buy your product.
